This day was Valentine's Day. I wanted to pay homage to the holiday, but didn't want to be too obvious about it, so I went with a very sweet, pale pink frock and offset the innocent-ness with a mixed media jacket, a severe side part and some very sassy lips! The whole look just screams Parisian chic-- in the springtime, right?! I can wait to wear this dress again maybe over skinny jeans, and open toe strappy sandals!

When it's cold and dreary out, I choose to wear two scarves as opposed to one. Personally I think it's very chic- maybe it'll start trending now!

What I love about fashion, is that you really can wear anything- if you wear it well, with confidence and with the right accessories of course! If you've been a long-time reader you know that I love my pulled together, preppy buttoned up looks, but nothing feels better than a comfortable, preppy put together outfit! And that is exactly what I was going for with this weekend sweater staple, over a very prim pleated skirt.

Do you ever have days at work when you love what you are wearing when you leave the house, and then throughout the day gradually add or subtract from the original look? Well that's me- all the time. On this particular instance I decided I wanted to make small tweaks like roll up the sleeves, add a necklace that was sitting on my desk, and remove the clutch from the outfit. I love that these little changes add a new dynamic and make my look cocktail ready! My favorite of the two is definitely the second. What do you guys think?

sheer madness

This has got to be one of my all time favorite dresses, ever. It was a gift from my boyfriend, from years ago. Yeah, so I asked for it in this color, and in my size, but, it was still a gift from him. I decided to go a little girly-grunge and add ridiculously high boots, massive amounts of jewelry and of course the intense parka. But, added the sweet ringlets and barely there makeup to offset the contrasting looks. I think it came out pretty well, a little 'free people' if you will.

You really can't go wrong with a flannel, stovepipes and a blazer. It's a no-brainer when it comes to planning and super easy to jazz up with an over abundance of jewelry, and fierce shoes like these studded Ash babies I scored on MyHabit!

Ever since it became socially acceptable to rock seven different prints (aka spring trend 2012), I have been taking full advantage- and loving every minute of it! I really threw this outfit on for comfort rather than the usual "look". But, the pop of lime-yellow on the shoes and the contrasting stripes against the girly pink tweed jacket brighten up this casual Sunday garb, and turn it into something unexpected.

Remember that once train wreck tv show- 'Charm School'? The one Monique was mc-ing, where all the girls wore tiny little skirts and pretended they were getting their "learn" on, but really were just putting on good, trashy tv? Yeah, me neither. But, I hear this 'fit could possibly get me onto the next season.  Here's hoping my attempt at school-girl gone chic will get it's day in the spotlight.

I have been obsessing over this amazing blazer since it appeared on my doorstep before I even jet off to London, last December. Look real close- and you'll see tiny little suitcases- #totesamaze! It's light and airy and going to be a major staple in my spring wardrobe. It's already even made a few appearances on my instagram- @carharris. I have been dying to do pair it with yellow bottoms since I laid eyes on it, so ladies- and readers- here is my little rendition of the yellow suit.
