more polka dots and the do's and don'ts of office wear!

{unknown dress (similar style), Sheinside blazer c/o, Zara flats, SEE sunglasses (another cool mirror style!), 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli}

Nothing I love more than an outfit that pulls itself together in the morning! And this dress/blazer combo is exactly that. I added my a-little-off round mirror sunglasses, and a pop-of-color lipstick to make this look more me- and off to work I went.

Here are some appropriate fashion work tips...

Summer Office Wear: Dos & Don'ts

When the warm weather arrives and you're sitting in a stuffy office at work, the temptation to banish your black trousers to the back of the wardrobe is strong. However, although you might want to swap the professional trouser suit for a casual flowing summer dress, it's worth thinking about your office dress code first.

To avoid walking into work looking like you've just stepped off Bondi Beach, follow these top do's and don'ts of office summer wear.

Dresses

There are a few things to consider when it comes to choosing a dress that's appropriate for the office. One of the biggest decisions is over sleeves. In most cases, capped sleeves, ¾ sleeves or sleeveless are suitable but don't even think about spaghetti straps!

Summer maxi dresses are a good way to bring the sunshine into the office. Despite them giving off a fairly relaxed and bohemian look, when paired with a tailored blazer, they can look smart enough for work. Remember to avoid garish Hawaiian prints; solid colors are your best bet.

Skirts

If there's one thing I love about summer, its swapping trousers for skirts. Although you can still wear a skirt in the winter, it typically involves horrible scratchy tights. You can achieve a really smart professional look with a knee-length skirt. It might be summer but it's best to avoid ruffles and bright patterns.

Suits

In some offices, it's just impossible to avoid the suit. However, you can make a suit
more summery by opting for lighter colours or light wool. Most suits are dark colors and made from heavy materials, but they don't have to be. By adding some lighter accessories, you can keep your corporate look and get that summery feeling.

Shoes

Give your tootsies a bit of fresh air this summer and throw those clunky boots into
the back of the wardrobe. Swap your usual shoe for some cute peep toe heels. Be careful when choosing footwear for the summer as although they might be fashionable, they might not be appropriate for the office.
