Video: SF Shop Girl gets exclusive with Allergic to Vanilla...

You guys have no idea how excited I am to showcase my very first video on this blog! My dear friend and fellow SF blogger, Alexandra from SF Shop Girl, interviewed me at her very chic pad as we chatted up spring trends, why I've got it bad for Dannijo, and how on earth one finds a blog name like mine! So sit back, click play and enjoy...

And dish...what did you think about the video, would you like to see more regular video diary posts here on this blog? I'd love to know your thoughts!

Huge thanks to Alex for asking me to be a part of this, and the very talented Marika for taping and editing this fab piece!

a time and a place

a time and a place

{Rolex, Jennifer Fisher cuffs, floral blazer, Alejandro Ingelmo Boomerang and Flavia heels, 7 for All Mankind jeans}

I'll admit it, I've never been much of a wrist watch gal, until recently that is. A few months ago I found the perfect watch- it complimented most of my outfits, was a key component in my daily arm party and it actually did it's job- and kept me on time.

So, as it goes with most things that are a good thing- you want more! I'm currently on the hunt for another boyfriend style watch and this Rolex (hello, a girl can dream) is on my wish list. Not only is it fabulous, but people will see that baby and actually think you care about being on time- or lack there of it. One of my favorite ways to style a gold boyfriend watch is what I like to call the Downtown-Artist look- a creative print blazer, baggy boyfriend jeans, sky-high heels, a swipe of lipstick and of course the all important gold timepiece flanked by matching dainty gold bangles.

So if you're in the market for a fabulous wrist accessory- I'd suggest checking out Chrono 24 and picking something out pretty for yourself!

uniform

{Gap trenchcoat, Cynthia Rowley sweatshirt, Gap dark camo skinny jeans, Forever 21 beanie, Nine West boots, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel}

To some extent this is my uniform. Skinny jeans- which I will never stop wearing no matter how uncool they get, because they work so well for my body type- a fashion-y sweater, sweatshirt or tee, a heeled pair of boots/booties and a beanie to hid the (unkempt) hair. Oh, and lipstick- always lipstick. What's your uniform?

doubled up denim

{Madewell Perfect Chambray Ex-Boyfriend c/o, Zara denim, J. Crew Valentina Heels, Madewell The Essex Minibag c/o, Bauble Bar necklace, Milani lipstick, TOKYObay watch}

What else can I say about denim that hasn't already been said before? It's just good. This true blue matchy-matchy hue on both my chambray and jeans are sort of the perfect modern-western shade.  And in a double dose it's even better. Are you more of light wash, dark wash, or true blue denim kind of girl?

P.S. today's the big day- Madewell is hosting their grand opening party in Santana Row

whiteout

{Zara denim moto jacket, Wallis dress c/o, Mia sandals, Madewell The Essex Minibag c/o, TOKYObay watch and bracelet, vintage bangle}

For a really long time I lived in San Jose, and I would peruse the shops at Santana Row in my off time, always excited for the constant remodeling of the chic space, and hoping for more new stores that were more-- me. This Tuesday one of my favorite brands for classic-chic staples is coming to the South Bay. Get your closets ready, people- Madewell is heading south!  While I'm not a "classic" kind of girl by any means, Madewell staples never cease to leave my closet rotation in any season-- their perfectly worn-in chambrays, quality leather goods, and unexpected sweet silk pieces will forever hold a special place in my heart.

So for my South bay ladies- if you are anywhere near Santana Row tomorrow afternoon get yourself to Madewell's opening night party from 5-8pm. The soiree is being co-hosted by the San Jose Museum of Art (another one of my stomping grounds- a Saturday afternoon favorite!), and 10% off all proceeds go to the museum. Alrighty then, let's see a show of hands of who's going?!

when spring meets fall

{Vintage dress, H&M sweater-coat, Zara booties, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel, Liberty London x AG scarf c/o, vintage bracelet, TOKYObay watch c/o}

While I'm well aware it's full-blown-spring-time I will sometimes not go with the flow and wear cutesy pastels. Sometimes I'll wear black, and deeper hues just because.

my AG jeans experience

 (left) a pair of vintage shorts the head designer scored, (right) a duplicate she had the AG team copy

 Second floor of the Los Angeles AG offices

 My workspace for a few hours

 The AG team put me up at the Standard Downtown for a few nights- sleep was heavenly in this bed!

 One happy customer!

Late last year I won an instagram contest hosted by AG Jeans, and Lucky FABB. My instagram picture -a daisy patch- was chosen as the winner and it was printed on several pairs of jeans, I got to fly down to Los Angeles and witness the entire process, from cutting the pattern, to adding the grommets, to choosing which label to add- it was all in house! And it was an incredible experience, huge thanks to the AG team for taking care of me- you ladies are incredible sweet and I look forward to your continued success!

neon and neutral

{Zara neon jacket, ShopSeptember leopard sweater c/o, LC Lauren Conrad faux leather shorts, Zara booties, Ya Living scarf}

San Francisco will always be cold enough to wear sweaters, and since leopard will always be a neutral to me- this leopard face sweater will forever be floating in and out of these outfit posts! Today I decided to just let a flash of the leopard spots show through, and make the main focus this hi-lighter yellow neon blazer.

How do you mix your neon and neutrals?

inspired

{Empyre blazer, Target striped top, Quiksilver denim shorts, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel, J. Crew Valentina heels, TOKYObay watch and bracelet}

My eclectic-chic day to day outfits find their inspiration from everywhere. But on this day I just happened to be perusing my Instagram feed and was completely smitten by the ease, yet Francophile chic-ness of the look Miss Hallie Daily posted.
