downtown layers

{thrifted coat (similar style), Banana Republic Factory cape, True Religion jeans c/o, Circus by Sam Edelman booties c/o DSW, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli, Target striped top, Brownie and Madam sunglasses}
If I could showoff my fall uniform it would look a lot like this. Layers, stripes, neutral tones, skinny jeans, and stellar flat booties- so I can walk everywhere. It's all about layers for me this fall, and I can't wait to wear more of my blanket coats, wraps, scarves and hats. Bring on the fall temperatures! What is your fall uniform?

ladylike with clarins

I've been dabbing grownup serums and creams on my face since high school, and applying drugstore makeup since even longer- it's one of the benefits of having a mother who always took care of her skin and only bought fancy French department store brands. I scored her leftovers and got the not so great makeup samples in her gift with purchase. Needless to say I grew a healthy obsession with beauty and skincare at a young age, and happily still do.

If someone asked me today what I apply on my skin, and they often do- thanks to genetics and proper skincare- I would list off the serums and eye-creams and SPFs that I often layer. For the past few months I've been loyal to one brand- and my mother would be proud that it's French luxury label- Clarins.

Clarins sent over some goodies to test and try out. The Double Serum-which you've seen in every single fashion magazine and even on commercials- is everything and then some. It's two different anti-aging serums pumped out as one. I layer a bit under my eye cream, then wait for it to soak in and then slather on day or night cream. This serum is truly a luxe splurge, it smells great and makes your skin feel supple and youthful. After using this since April I'm not sure I can ever cut it out of my skincare regimen.

Another fabulous skincare item Clarins makes which is another how-did-I-ever-live-without-this item is the new to the line Golden Glow Booster- a concentration of self tanner oil which you mix in the palm of your hand with your favorite SPF or moisturizer to create your perfect healthy glow. It's one of those 5 star products that really makes a difference in your appearance and even allows for less makeup. A win-win for me since this gal doesn't wear foundation, and a dollop of moisturizer with this booster makes my skin glow.

Stay tuned later this week to see bits from the new Ladylike makeup Collection in person.

all eyes on me

{Zara dress, Uniqlo oxford shirt, Chanel wallet, Jigsaw booties (similar style) c/o}

Some people might say that I dress a little loud, and a lot of quirky because I like the attention. And while I'm going to to tell you that could not be furthest from the truth, I know today's getup will literally have all eyes on me.

I wore this eyeball dress late spring for a little wine tasting, with a straw fedora and flat sandals- a perfect little outfit for a fun weekend activity. But I wanted to see if I could dress it up a bit to feel more polished, or as polished as an eyeball dress gets. So, up went the hair, on went the burgundy lips and on went my trusty oxford. I say throw an oxford under everything- it's the chicest thing I'll never not own. Maybe next time I'll wear it with a blazer and suede thigh high boots.

Speaking of boots, did you see I'm hosting an event with DSW?! It's going to be major- shoe discounts if you RSVP, fall DIY projects and fall inspired bites. I hope you can make it next Tuesday!

the royal treatment

Last week the Allure Best of Beauty Award winning nail boutique, Lux SF, offered up a little pampering, and who am I to say no to such a generous offer? I know Lux from a previous pampering encounter, and from all the times I walk by through Hayes Valley, glaring from the outside looking in, at all the chairs seeming to be filled with fabulous 20-40 somethings with champagne glass in hand ready for their me-time. The good life. Trophy wife or yuppie, either way if I had the time and funds Lux SF would be on my weekly to-do list too.

The space is loft-like, clean and airy with high ceilings, an urban brick wall and stunning fixtures. It's one chic boutique. The nail polishes are displayed on a gallery wall-like steel shelf, with brands like Deborah Lippmann, RGB, and even the salon's own Lux SF line of polish which seems to have increased in color options since the last time I went. It was difficult to choose just two shades but I went with a classic red on my toes, and my eternal favorite Dove, a chalky white, by RGB for my hands. Once said colors were picked out my feet were immersed into a tub of sudsy warm bubbles and it was 90 minutes of pure bliss after that- including the ever coveted "Soyaffin wrap" where hands and feet are slathered in lotions and wrapped in fancy heating-like pads.

The stuff is super friendly, and even as I was walking out I meet the owner who was great and gave me a sneak peek of a new polish line. All-in-all if you are in San Francisco and are in the market for a few hours of pampering this is the place to go for great salon service. Oh, and did I mention they have champagne on hand? Definitely worth visiting this gem of a boutique in Hayes Valley, there's a reason it was noticed by Allure magazine.

 I'm all over the place this fall with my favorite colors, see some of them below:

Also, I'm hosting a fun fall event with DSW next Tuesday October 28th, hope to see all my SF ladies and gents there! RVSP at this link here.

mad for plaid

{Express coat c/o (similar shape, and color style here), Goorin Bros fedora (fab option!), True Religion jeans, Jigsaw booties, Bally crossbody bag, TOKYObay Agent watch c/o}

It's finally starting to feel like fall around here. I've been reaching more and more for my nubby knits and cozy cashmere wraps as temps are cooling, and, finally, the rain is coming down- not so cute for the straightened hair, but great for the crops. One of my must-haves for every fall season is a great coat, and this rad statement plaid one is exceptional. With a mod vibe and a modern sleeve silhouette this jacket feels very last season CĂ©line and every bit right now. I can't get enough of it.

I decided to update it with an au courant hair tuck topped by my fave grey fedora and my new timepiece over my sleeve. One part conveience (no need to pull up that sleeve in these frigid temps), one part style genius.

#besobold //madewell 2 Bandits event

(Forever 21 girls coat (love this one!), thrifted Ralph Lauren shirt, True Religion denim c/o, vintage Gucci belt, TOKYObay watch c/o, J. Crew Everly pumps}

Being bold can mean many things, so when True Religion sent over these jeans and asked me to "Be So Bold" I knew I was going to go big- not so jumping off a cliff big, but more purple lipstick, fur coat rocking, man watch wearing big. Going big, or going home right?

Let's start with this coat, this deceivingly good faux fur coat. It's Forever 21 and I found it in the girl's section, on sale. I know, it's a lot to take in. I'll give you a moment.

Next, this bold lip. It's my perfectly purple pencil eyeliner, muddled in with some mauve lipstick. I'm always on the hunt for the perfect seasonal lip shade, so when I received a few compliments on it in person I knew I was onto something. This bold lip will definitely stay in the rotation this fall.

And then of course there is that ginormous yet glorious rose gold specimen on my wrist- a man's watch. I'm not one to shy away from the boy's section, I find my best pieces there. The masculine- the dial size- yet feminine -the rose gold hue- kept me intrigued and let's just say you'll see this watch often.

Also, my friends over at The 2 Bandits are hosting a lovely event at the Madewell store in SF tonight from 6-8p. If you are around you should definitely go. There will be cocktails, discounts on merch, and the first 20 people to get there will get a free The 2 Bandits ring....sounds like reason enough to make the most of this Thursday night! Hope to see you there.

lim addiction

With friends and family sales in full-swing my every growing lust for a fab new handbag is alive and thriving. There are so many stunning leather totes, polished satchels and leopard calf hair crossbody’s I just need. The tiny notepad app on my outdated iPhone 5G is overflowing with numerous lists of to-do’s and to-buy’s, good thing Lyst helps me keep an online checklist of all those wants and even alerts me when any of my top picks go on sale.

As you all know, my Pashli is my baby, she has gone everywhere with me. When I first got my hands on her she got dragged along everywhere- from work, to events, on planes and trains- quite the social butterfly she is. Check out some of my favorites of us from last year...

But Mr. Lim has upped the ante and now there are so many more fabulous accoutrements I may need so Pashli has friends to play with. Here is my new covet Lim list. Which is your fave?

fall plaid

Last week I was invited to the grand re-opening of Bloomingdales in Palo Alto. While it didn't exactly feel like fall, it very much, was so I opted to wear layers, appropriate hued tones, and cold weather accouterments to mingle with media, bloggers and other like-minded fashion folk. The space was absolutely stunning. I mean who doesn't love Bloomies? Imagine your fave Bloomies x 10...that good. All the mannequins were styled to perfection, the layout was clean and flowed well, and the store designer was even on hand to explain all the extra touches he implemented.

It was such a special morning, thank you Bloomingdales for allowing me to be a part of it!
