neutrals at dusk

Ah, Summer in San Francisco the perfect time to wear head-to-toe neutrals and match perfectly well with the... overcast and gloomy sky. June gloom is a real thing, people. One second the sun is out, and the next it's time to bundle up. This J'Amy Tarr Wool Moto jacket has been a lifesaver these past few weeks, it's the perfect jacket for any kind of weather, not to mention it's beautifully tailored and quite chic. J'Amy has graciously offered a 10% discount off all purchases on her site with code "Allergictovanilla"...enjoy!

Happy Monday, everyone- hope your short week treats you well!

flashback friday

Happy Friday! Recognize some of these pictures? These are some of my favorite snaps from this time last year that I featured on this blog. It's not rare that I overwear my most prized and favorite possessions- that is what they are there for after all! Like my leather jacket, my Pashli, and my super comfortable studded flats- they are go-to's for me and I can't see myself parting with them or not featuring them on the blog, because I've already worn them. What's fun to me is trying to find new and interesting ways to style them.

the perfect maxidress

When I first saw this dress hanging in an H&M store about 3 years ago I was put off by the price. $60 felt like a lot of money for the brand, I didn't know if the quality would hold up, but I knew the cut and color made me very happy. So I bit the bullet and 3 years later am still loving this beautiful dress. I'd say it's one of my best H&M purchases ever. What the best thing you ever spotted and bought that you weren't 100% convinced on?

Here are some fun maxi dresses, all perfect for whatever kind of summer weather you are having...

mechanic jumpsuit

{Gap denim jacket, Paige denim jumpsuit c/o Bloomingdales, Nine West boots, Banana Republic leather bag, Ray-Bans, Caravelle watch c/o}

I live in this jumpsuit on the weekends. It's my one-stop-shop for outfit choosing. I wear the jumpsuit, pick the shoes, and do my hair. When you get creative with outfits daily it's nice to not have to think about it and just throw it on, this jumpsuit let's me do just that!

Have you jumped on the jumpsuit trend this summer?

red kimono

{Free People Kimono (similar style), Zara dress, Chloe & Isabel owl necklace, Steve Madden boots, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli, Brownie and Madam sunglasses}

It's kimono season people, along with rosé sipping, outdoor pizza grilling, and the time to bust out all those florals. Now while San Francisco isn't in it's summer peak, I still wanted to wear this warm-weather getup- see the vision, be the vision, right?! I donned this outfit to work, as I said before it's easy to get away with wearing just about anything at a startup, but I wanted to take it into a more professional route by adding black leather extras, and tying my hair back. Envisioning this little look with short brown ankle boots, and my curly locks took it more wine tasting and less 11am meeting.

Hope your Thursday is off to a great start! Thanks so much for reading, loves!

city beach

{Madewell top, J. Crew denim, Zara blazer (similar), Vince heels c/o Bloomingdales, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli satchel, arm party c/o: Caravelle watch, Jami bracelet, Le Tote, Stella & Dot, Stila Beso 10 lipshade, Brownie and Madam sunglasses c/o, Chanel scarf}

A girl can never have too many striped tops- it's a fact, and one that I overtly exercise. This Madewell one has stolen my heart- the material is heavy (perfect for a San Francisco "Beach" day), the stripes are red (perfect to match my lipstick with), and it's a short sleeve version (something I didn't yet have). And, lastly it's on sale! Sold. Boom.

how to: style denim

Denim has long been a forecasted a trend since before I can remember loving fashion. Every season in some glossy with authority it's deemed the never-ending trend. To me it's just a lifestyle. As much as I love dressing up to the nines, and throwing on two opposing prints and calling it an outfit, I can get down with denim on-the-daily. You see that is the beauty of working for a start-up in San Francisco- you can almost get away with wearing anything.

These ladies are inspiring me to push my denim styling knowledge a bit and think outside the usual box. I for one don't own denim flares but now think it's imperative to score a pair, and how great is the styling of the Rag & Bone pencil skirt on look #4? I'm thinking I will be wearing more denim than usual this week.

What's your take on denim?

bettlejuice

{Persunmall blazer c/o, H&M sheath dress, Sam Edelman booties c/o DSW, Marc by Marc Jacobs magazine clutch (similar), Shop Jami jewelry, TOKYObay watch}

I love a good horizontal stripe, it's classic, elegant and in every girls closet. Now vertical stripes, those you don't see too often, exactly the reason why I may have needed this bold striped blazer. I was leaning towards the black version, but I think this one is less Bettlejuice, and more everyday-chic. I paired it with a tweed mini, and one of my first big designer purchases- this Marc Jacobs magazine clutch.  It's timeless, I don't think I'll ever get rid of it, not to mention it's the perfect size for a magazine junkie like me. What was one of your first big designer purchases?

overall

{Greylin blazer, Obey overalls c/o, Marine Layer tee, Zara loafers, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli satchel}

I can absolutely appreciate how large the overall trend has escalated- especially since I have been wearing mine since before I feel like it really blew up. Even better it seems a bit more socially acceptable now- like on toddlers and people in the know ;). True story: I wore this look to work and while I, of course, thought they were the most adorable things ever, not a one person agreed. They probably thought I was channeling my inner 5 year old. You know what? That fine by me, I was damn comfortable and loved my outfit. Have you jumped on the bandwagon yet?
