morning cup

 {J'Amy Tarr moto jacket, Ducks in a Row dress c/o, Nine West boots, Bally bag, Stila lipstick Beso 10}

Sometimes I look up to people who don't drink or need coffee to subsist...the health benefits, the natural energy...and then I side-eye them and form other opinions because I love coffee, and need it everyday. A cup of joe each day helps jump start my morning, and on really rough days helps with the afternoon slump. Even on days when I sleep more than 8 hours and feel peppy it just feels right to start the day with a cup-- cream, no sugar. So when illy Coffee wanted to send a case of the good stuff, how could I even resist? Let's just say I'm out dry and may need a refill sooner rather than later.

oh monday

{Zara moto jacket, Madewell striped top, Zara denim, Kenneth Cole necklace, Pacsun fedora, Sperry Top-Sider sandals c/o, Chanel wallet, Stila lipstick: Beso 10}

Monday's are always rough- no more alarm less wake up calls, marathons of Real Housewives, and boozy beverages with just about every meal...humbug. Well, I'm making the most of it and looking toward the rest of the week. While I had an excellent weekend, I'm definitely looking forward to this week...it's my birthday (week!), and I can't wait to celebrate each day like it's the weekend all over again.

OTK

Last year we were all over the over-the-knee boot, everyone and their mom had either a pair of the Stuart Weiztman suede boots or smartly invested in an identical knockoff look-a-like. While I loved them from afar, I didn't see a need for them. For some reason, could be the cold summer San Francisco air, but I haven't stopped thinking about a pair of pointy toe OTK black suede boots to wear, like tomorrow.

I didn't know if I missed the boat on them trending last year, and if investing in them at this point is like buying peplum after it's time had come to a close. But after searching high and low on the internet I spotted some majorly stylish ladies looking eternally chic traipsing ever so elegantly in...gasp...OTK boots. Done deal, sold, put 'em in my cart and checkout. Stay tuned and see which ones I scored.

very sperry

{Gap denim jacket, Zara blazer, Gap tee shirt, J. Crew denim, Sperry Top-Sider sneakers c/o, Caravelle watch, Chloe + Isabel coin bracelet c/o}

Coming back from a tropical vacation and heading right back to work the following day can really kill the mood. Since all I really wanted to wear was caftans and flowers in my hair, getting ready for work last week was all about comfort, yet still maintaining some semblance of professionalism- even for a start up. Sperry's sent over these Seacoast sneakers the week before, and while I've never considered myself a sneakerhead, these may have forever changed that...and they were perfect for a back-to-reality workday in San Francisco. Consider me a convert, because these are fabulous.

a week in maui

 {Charlotte Russe top, Quiksilver shorts, J. Crew hat; Billabong and Victoria Secret bikini separates}

Exactly one week ago I woke up and left paradise, otherwise known as Maui to me. It was beautiful, lush, colorful and everything a tropical destination should be- including copious amounts of tiny umbrella drinks.

Good friends of ours were getting married in this beautiful island and we were lucky enough to spend a week there on vacation as well as attend their ceremony- talk about a destination wedding, right? With Hurricanes Iselle and Julio making an appearance in the middle of our week, it took a day and a half away of beach/wave time but we still had the best time. I'd like to admit that I did all sorts of adventurous things like jump off of Black Rock and swim with sharks but alas I did not...more like relax, beach time, eat, and do it all again. It was awesome.

#ootd: she's the man

{Zara blazer, Uniqlo white buttonup, Gap denim, Asos bow-tie (similar style), Vince heels c/o Bloomingdales, men's Gucci belt, handbag from Prague, Brownie and Madam sunglasses c/o}

I've never been quite the girly-girl. While I do love my fair share of same-print separates worn together, and numerous shades of red lipstick dabbled on just so, I've never been a Pepto-pink and ruffles kind of lady. While that has it's time and place- a masculine/feminine vibe is more my vibe. The above look is the ultimate for me, a sharp polished outfit that's a little bit dapper, a little bit sassy, yet still very much office appropriate.

Check out some of my favorite ways a lady can wear a bow-tie:

the prep team

{J. Brand denim, Vince heels c/o Bloomingdales, Marine Layer tee shirt c/o, Varsity jacket from an SF boutique, Caravelle watch}

It's been quite a while since I've played organized sports on a team where a uniform was required. So wearing this varsity jacket brings back memories- good: playing soccer was pretty fun, a great way to get my exercise in, bad: I wasn't the best...hah! Since I am pretty much a sporty girl at heart this cute little varsity jacket was a no-brainer. The muted color palette is perfect to throw over everything, the leatherette detail at the shoulder made the overall look more interesting, and it has pockets- I really can't stand when jackets don't have pockets!

I'm quite obsessed with this one, but all of these varsity jackets below are pretty great, which is your favorite?
