dressing for success

Dressing up is a huge part of my day, and something I actually look forward to deciding. I work in a very fashionable environment with some chic ladies and gents so stepping up my game in the "dressing up department" comes with the territory, but it wasn't always this way. I, along with the rest of the population had many a tragic period- hello cheap Forever 21 sequin halter tops and low rise jeans.

My style was empowered at a young age by my very chic mother, and my younger sister who was obsessed with the Spice Girls and Clueless- hence me being obsessed with said pop culture characters. While I definitely had a variety of style inspiration I think I really came into my own in my later years of college, refining my taste, and truly finding my style. My style ranges of course, but one look that doesn't sway that often is my power outfit, or the outfit that makes me feel most confident. It's a variation of tailored separates like a blazer or elegant coat, power pumps, a luxe handbag, and a velvety matte red lip. Talk about immediate confidence booster.

I'm partnering with ShopStyle and Dress for Success to donate 10% of all sales made from today and tomorrow's post to DFS, and ShopStyle will match all proceeds 100%! See all the other bloggers participating here, and read the guidelines regarding donation here. This is such a great cause and a great reason to do a little shopping!
