When fashion gives back, it's a beautiful thing. Fashion in and of itself is a sophisticated, striking and marvelous thing, but when the powers that be do something to help the less fortunate there is something to be said about how amazing that is. Let's be honest fashion can come off as vain and self-absorbed so when I found out that the CFDA was partnering up with ShopStyle Collective to target breast cancer I was ecstatic and ready to do my part and give back.
My grandmother on my dad's side, a delicate beauty named Mable never lived to see her eldest son wed, fall in love with her daughter-in-law, or meet her two grandchildren. Breast cancer stole her away from us and even though I've never met her, I think about her a lot- and often wonder if she'd approve of the woman I've become. I'd like to believe that we'd share stories about her past, and she would have guided me in trying times and even shared some, of what I imagine her fabulous vintage closet to be. My Grandmother Mable didn't have much of a chance in the 60s but women everywhere today, with the leaps in medicine and financial assistance, have more of a fighting chance. That's why I'm excited to announce for every item purchased from my blog, Oct 17-23, I'll be donating 10% of all sales to the FTBC to help fight breast cancer. I'd like to think Grandma Mable would of been as jazzed about this OOTD as I am. ;)

This promotion is conducted in partnership with POPSUGAR Inc. and CFDA Foundation in support of the CFDA’s Fashion Targets Breast Cancer initiative. POPSUGAR Inc. will be separately making a $5,000 donation and that it will additionally match all participating ShopStyle Collective bloggers donations $1 for $1, in excess of $5,000, up to a maximum of $5,000, for a total POPSUGAR Inc. maximum donation of $10,000.  Sales originating in AL, HI, IL, MA, MS, SC, and outside of the U.S. do not qualify towards the 10% of net sales towards donations. The value of the donation corresponding to any purchase is not tax deductible.
