Here we are in the thick of Summer, and the San Francisco sun has barely reached about 68 degrees all winter, err Summer long. The feeling of the European sun slowly turning my skin tan (in a responsible SPF'd way) is long forgotten. I'm due for some sun, ASAP. A few weeks ago my husband and I decided to take a weekend trip to Los Angeles to visit family, and if I'm being honest get some sun, like, first stop post-airport: the beach. I recently picked up this off the shoulder top from Banana Republic and really loved how it felt summery, but the cargo texture was strong enough to be worn well into pre-fall. And that is precisely what I did-- tested it out in a warmer LA climate, and worn this past weekend in San Francisco.

Before I get into my LA look let's chat Banana Republic, when was the last time you went into the store? You might have forgotten about them since Marissa Webb left but I promise there are some goodies to be scored once you step foot inside. Last time I walked in I was pleasantly surprised with a full candy bar. For those who know me, know gummy candy is my weakness, so stocking up on candy was def my first stop, second stop was the cute Cosabella intimates, a display of vintage designer pieces and, and last stop the shoes (!) I always love stopping at the wall-o-shoes to see what my closet is lacking.

Los Angeles look: as we all know LA is about 30 degrees warmer at all times, or that's what it feels like, at least. So an overcoat and full-length pants just would not do. In LA I wore this top with a two-tone denim skirt, some strappy sandals, and accessorized with a top knot, some gold hoops, and a cute little basket bag.

Which look is more appropriate to your locale? SF or LA?
