Lanvin and Denim

I was recently gifted a few boxes of gorgeous clothing from a woman with a very discerning taste and among the items was this precious Lanvin jacket you see above — the balloon sleeves and decorative broach are to-die-for. It came with a matching pencil skirt but I wore it as a shirt in the images above to dress it down. I paired my new fabulous jacket with skinny denim, and my recent splurge --- the
I R O boots you see above.

I loved rocking this look, I felt very chic and grownup, it could have been the Lanvin, it could have been the I R O, hell it could have been me feeling my hairstyle at the moment, either way, this is most definitely an outfit repeater.

This is my second time staying at the lovely Sandman hotel in Santa Rosa. The first time around it was all sunshine and hanging at the pool sipping beverages in the midst of Summer. This time we had much less time to enjoy the pool but since the temperature had dropped, we didn't miss it too much. We were in town for the Sonoma Harvest Music Festival and were so thankful to have a place to stay close to the show! Besides the pool, some of my favorite attributes of the hotel are the hip ambiance, decor, the staff -- who are always so helpful-- and the waffles at breakfast.

A continental breakfast is included in your stay with all sorts of goodies like fresh fruit, bagels, and cereals but the waffles are the real MVP in my opinion. This trip I decided to make it a breakfast-in-bed kind of morning, I made my waffle and brought it back to our room to enjoy in bed with a spread of magazines making it the perfect lazy Sunday start. Our room came equipt with the cutest little nook next to our sun-filled room, so I decided to catch up on a library book since I was on "holiday."

If you are heading to wine country this Fall for Harvest I'd highly recommend a stay at The Sandman -- the prices are reasonable, the location is only one hour from San Francisco, and the cinnamon flax waffles are divine. Trust me, you'll want to eat one in the dining hall, and one to go for your own luxe breakfast-in-bed experience.

Thanks to The Sandman for sponsoring this post, and Kim + Ono for the kimono samples!

The weather around the country, and on Instagram, makes you think crunchy leaves, burnt orange landscapes, cozy time at home with a pumpkin spice latte, but the truth is it's still hot out there. The first few times I tried pulling out my turtleneck dress I ended up sweaty and upset, so I'm going to start dressing for the actual weather -- late summer. Even San Francisco got the memo, we finally got our summer, it's generally short-lived but worth the wait. this time around it's not intense 100+ degrees; it's warm, muggy, with some light showers. But hey, at least it's not freezing and gloomy every day. I'll take what I can get.

My San Francisco summer look is this gorgeous Ulla Johnson top from Dress, a little boutique in SF I can't rave about enough, the denim are my go-to from Banana Republic, and the mules are favorites from Arno, and you've seen them multiple times here and here.

Sonoma Harvest Music Festival at B.R. Cohn

Last weekend I had the absolute pleasure to attend the first ever Sonoma Harvest Music Festival held on the rolling vineyards of the picturesque B.R. Cohn Winery. I was introduced to B.R.Cohn last year and was thrilled when they invited me back to experience this momentous occasion. Also, they promised wine, live music, food, and actual sunshine, ok, they didn't promise that last part, but I checked with the weatherman, and he promised 80+ degrees. I packed the cutest festival look one could wear in 80+ degree weather, sunscreen, and was ready for a day of fun in the sun.

I knew the festival was going to be big, like 3,000 people big, but really had no idea what to expect at the venue. The moment we drove into the parking lot, it was clear this was a big deal after we saw row, after row of cars in a cleared lot advertising parking for the festival.

The minute we picked up our VIP wristbands the first thing I needed, besides a little B.R. Cohn vino, obviously, was some food! After being on the road for a few hours at peak lunch time we were a bit hangry so off to the food stalls, it was. Lucky for us there was a plethora to choose from fancy favorites like The Girl and The Fig, wood-fired pizzas, hometown BBQ, salads and healthy nibbles, as well as tacos -- we went with the later and the longest line of them all, but well worth it.

Our tickets included coveted VIP wristbands, and they couldn't have been more perfect as we navigated the very busy venue, it seemed everywhere we turned it was packed — every section of the grassy hill covered in a blanket holding someone's prized seat spot, we really didn't know where to sit. Lucky for us when we finally figured out that our VIP wristbands gave us access to a few different private sections with all you can drink, snacks, a much less crowded experience, and even a few empty chairs depending on the artist on at the moment, we headed there and never left!

Since we got to the venue around lunchtime, we only saw about four of the artists out of the six that were scheduled on Saturday. The Suffers, Shovel & Rope, Lake Street Dive, and The Avett Brothers headlining the day. It was a great group! Honestly, my music taste varies, I like a little bit of everything (except for country -- because I went overboard with it in College!) but I loved all the music I heard, country included, live music is a wonderful thing and since I don't get to experience it enough it was truly such a special day to do so at B.R. Cohn.

If you are local or plan a visit to SF soon make sure to make your way down to B.R. Cohn on a Sunday in your near future. I promise your weekend-loving-self will thank you for it. They do a fabulous Sunday Funday with a local food truck shucking oysters, head here for more events at the winery. Also, get your 2-for-1 wine tastings at the winery here.

Thanks to B.R. Cohn for our fabulous tickets and sponsoring this post.

I've decided to choose gratitude. I'm blessed every single day with life, love, health and the opportunity to actually do what I love, it's a beautiful feeling to feel fulfilled and very lucky at the end of the day. This moment is not lost on me and hopefully never will be.  What do you choose today?

As it seems my luck seems to be in tune with my wardrobe — Lucky Brand sent over a head to toe look, and I couldn't feel more giddy to wear it. If you've seen me out and about in San Francisco you know and love this denim jacket as much as I already do. The jeans are the exact same color as the jacket, and I already envision some major Canadian Tuxedo moments in my future, as well as this gorgeous embroidered peasant blouse-- my husband actually complimented it the other day, and that is saying a lot!
