Layering is an art form here in Northern California, it's something that you learn over time as an expat or are born with as a local. That notorious chill affectionately known as "Karl the Fog", will get you if you don't layer properly. I know when stepping out in San Francisco, that I need at least two or three layers, or else I run the risk of "freezing", as I say.

Tall boots, knee-length dress, roomy turtleneck, and a blazer are my perfect San Francisco wintertime look, granted we rarely get below 50 degrees. Besides the chic proportions, one thing I really love about this outfit is the plaid on the dress. It reminds me so much of my high school uniform, strange but true. When my dad saw this outfit he actually thought I was wearing my high school uniform! Ha, I'm not quite sure I could fit into it still, but it was nice of him to say.
