what to wear in ...the city of angels

Hey there, friends! Guess who is in LA as we speak?! I'm here for a few conferences- the Latina Lifestyle Blogger Conference, and Lucky FABB! I'm so excited to learn everything and anything blog related, meet some fabulous ladies and score some major inspiration. And as always (in my world) there is the fashion, some might even venture to say- that's what it's really all about! So I put together a few designer clothing "first impression" looks -that I'm majorly coveting on Farfetch - that I would scoop up in a second, if my budget allowed, and rock in LA this weekend ;). Farfetch is my newest shop crush- it's a huge online marketplace for independent fashion boutiques globally, and you can shop them all in one place-- super easy right?!

For a day full of seminars and presentations bring the polish and pretty in this put-together yet eclectic mix! I loved the Proenza Schouler pants, and pretty much centered my look around them. I kept the top on the simpler side, since the pants were so loud, but jazzed up in the color department with the heels and a well manicured mani with Pams and Kin polish, in Manic Monday!

{Pams and Kin Safety Dance, 3.1 Philip Lim studded dress, Sveva Collection necklace, Valentino heels, Alexander McQueen clutch}

Alright, now this is when you bring it- ok so maybe you bring it always, especially at these kinds of events- but cocktail hour is when you can really bring it on! Don't do a typical LBD unless you can sass it up so much people are looking at your accessories rather than your outfit. So, I would suggest- a bright pink frock! You will stand out from the crowd, and this Philip Lim has it's own built in jewelry neckline, so you can accessorize as you like, but my suggestion is--layering it up--per usual, so on the necklace goes! Add these beautiful Valentino Bow pumps...drool....the fierce McQueen clutch, again some bright nails by Pams and Kin, and voilĂ , all eyes on you, baby!

Wish me luck, I'll keep you posted on how it goes, and what I wear, on instagram (@allergictovanilla), and twitter (@alergic2vanilla)! P.s If your looking for a great place to stay during all the conferences check out the fabulous Crescent Hotel in Beverly Hills, that's where you'll find me!

going green for spring

{VS Pink blazer, Madewell blouse, Zara pencil skirt and heels, thrifted envelope clutch, Kardashian Kollection cat-eye shades, UO necklace}

I can never go wrong with a basic blouse and a pencil skirt- it's my go-to if you will- pulled together, business appropriate, yet extremely feminine! And this green pencil skirt has been a staple for over a season now- hey, that's awhile in fashion speak! Gotta love that adjustable zipper too, it instantly takes the 9 to 5 look overtime and well into happy hour cocktails with the girls! Although it might be a little much for a weekend in LA- where I'll be in a few days for the Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Conference and Lucky FABB!! Well, better get to packing...

spring it on

{Zara jacket and heels, Proenza Schouler x Target sweatshirt, F21 skirt, Chanel wallet, MNG by Mango necklace}

You know that feeling when you have your eye on something, and really, really want it? Well that was me when I saw this mixed media jacket. Obsessed really. When the jacket was finally available stateside I missed out on it several times, it was sold out in hours- since I waned a bit on the price. But alas the right size has finally made it into my closet, and is now a go-to in my daily outfit choices. I'm sure this won't be the last you've seen of my new favorite jacket!

stripes on stripes

{J. Crew sweater, H&M skirt, J. Crew shoes, Tory Burch bag via Poshmark, "Arty" ring via Tobi, Juicy Couture chain bracelet}

I have been all about wearing mis-matching patterns lately, but one of my new favorite looks is a stripe on stripe matchy-matchy look, and with the plethora of striped goods I own, it's fairly easy to pull a look from my closet together. I mean who doesn't own at least five stripe tops?! They are just so classic, and chic, and can be found everywhere, in all cost categories! I'm obviously obsessed!

into the wild

{Old Navy blouse, J. Crew denim, Empyre blazer, Tory Burch flats, Zara bag, Hollister beanie, mom's scarf}

Normally my Sunday dressing is comprised of varying degrees of comfort, and usually no heels, but I always try to look my best- you never know who your going to run into, right?! This sheer cheetah print blouse, and neon necklace did the trick of sprucing up my end of weekend look. And the chic flats are key to running around the city doing errands, while not looking frumpy. Unfortunately these Tory Burch flats are impossibly painful on my feet- I think it's time for some new flats. Any good suggestions?

snake charmer

{Empyre blazer, H&M peter pan blouse and printed pants, Zara shoes, BCBG Max Azria necklace}

These pants come a long way, all the way from London to be exact. I scored these fancy pants (also worn here) last year during my Christmas holiday. They were on major sale and when anything is on major sale in my book, you get two of 'em! They are the perfect cropped length to wear with heels for work, or chic flats this spring- and I fully intend on rocking them that way!

lady in red

 {MNG by Mango jacket, J. Crew cords, H&M button-up, Tory Burch loafers, Zara bag and flower pin}

I don't think there isn't a more classic combo than a blue button-up and red pants. I know I've been on a print-on-print routine lately, but this may be my new smart go-to combo. Maybe.

positively dotty

{J. Crew jacket, Sans Souci dress, Zara heels, BCBG collar necklace, KK shades}

I'm pretty irreverent when it comes to trends, but when I see one with potential I plow forward full force! Hence, the polka dots. They are a cheeky play on toddler garb, but in this gorgeous mustard color are very much grown up.

all my favorite things

{all images on my Pinterest board: obsessing over...}

It's the week leading up to Easter, so my mind is overtaken with pretty pastels, muted color palates, and what color-block situation to mix up on my nails next! Oh decisions, decisions. But one thing that won't change for a while is my affinity for buttoned up tops. So, I created a board on Pinterest, as an ode to this classic trend.

fleur couture

{Levi's shirt, H&M pants, Chinese Laundry pumps (another great style), Zara flower pin, Rebecca Minkoff 5 zip bag, Ann Taylor cuff}

Spring is here, and I can't get enough of the floral trend. But my new fave, is mixing floral with leopard! It sounds so wrong, but for some reason it works for me. And you know I'm not afraid of a little print mixing. Throw in a gorgeously bright bag- like this coral Rebecca Minkoff- and you've got one sassy outfit.
