business casual

{Gap blazer, H&M button-up, J. Crew skirt and bracelet, Zara pumps and flower pin, Cynthia Vincent pouch- c/o, NYX lipstick: Indie Flick}

This type of outfit really defines what I basically like to wear to work, in a creative or business space. Sure, I love a great sequin skirt, a good clash of prints, or even a standard sheath, but you cannot go wrong with a basic button up and a beautifully tailored pencil skirt. And in my case- a beautifully tailored, printed skirt- because we all know how I feel about prints, right? I can basically wear them all day, everyday, with everything.

Here's hoping your week is off to a beautiful, and productive start!

mad prints

 {Patrick Robertson for Target dress, Cynthia Vincent x Target, Zara purse, Kardashian Kollection sunnies, Bauble Bar necklace}

Some of my favorite items hiding in my closet needed to come out for brunch with my girl, Amanda from Fashionablee Me. Alright, who am I kidding this Bauble Bar necklace is attached to my neck. But the dress and shoes have been hibernating until recently, when the sun finally decided to show itself in my neck of the woods!

Hope ya'll enjoy your weekend, loves!

same jacket, different night

{Zara: jacket, bag, heels, H&M pants and skirt, FACE Stockholm nail color}

These pants are a statement piece all on thier own, so it's best to tone everything else down if you want to keep these the focal point. But I really feel these pants could go with nearly anything- a few favorites for me include an oversized gray sweatshirt, a Levi's cargo top, or this white button up I'm wearing. The extra bright nail polish is the one complimenting color that ties the whole look together- maybe next time I'll do a matching lipstick too!

obsessed with aqua

{clockwise from left: Color Club Age of Aquarius c/o, Victoria Secret dress, Jean Michel Cazabat heels, Eagle Claw Me bangle}

Date night, girls night, movie night, OK so maybe not movie night but I think every outing should be an event, and thus should be dressed like your going to one! Here is what I am crushing on currently and what I would wear right now if these goodies were in my closet.

Starting with this sassy dress that I found on of all places, in an amazing mirror print that seems to be all the rage right now. Adding a very fun pair of suede and scale Jean Michel Cazabat heels, and a to die for pair of claw bangles- I found on a great new jewelry site! And finishing off with a great mani, obvi. I scored this amazing cool blue hue polish in my FABB goodie bag last week and havent been able to switch out my nail polish since- so you know it's a good color!

coral fixation

{Zara jacket and purse, J. Crew denim and heels, Audrey 3+1 sweater, Kelly Wearstler tee c/o, DIY black chain necklace, Bauble Bar deco necklace}

As with most of my outfits lately, the majority of this one is composed of Zara and J. Crew, go figure. I loved the comfort and ease of the look. I was wearing the tie dye Kelly Wearstler tee I scored at the Lucky FABB cocktail party, at home with these jeans when my bf suggested we grab Vietnamese food- yum!! So I threw on the striped sweater, my new favorite heels and the infamous jacket that every blogger owns- in one of the two variations! Because you know, when your 'allergic to vanilla', you can't just wear jeans and tee to nosh- it's got to be done up!

So, obvi, the hair the makeup is a bit on the scarce and unkempt side- pardonnez moi!  It's funny how I actually care about the clothes, yet don't even look in a mirror to evaluate how cray the shoulders and up really look...oh well!

p.s To the right of this post you will see a widget for "Have to Have", with 10 items you may or may not have to have, mine is the tie dye blazer (#9)-- please vote "yes" on my blazer and "no" on the others- just cuz you love me!!! Thanks, and you know I'd do it for you!!  xx

favorite bits from LA: the Latina Lifestyle Blog Conference

For the past week I have been on a inspirational high all due from my recent travelings to Los Angeles. I recently made my way to this glam city for a few blog conferences- the first, the Latina Lifestyle Blog conference (LLBC), and the second Lucky FABB. I had an amazing time at both, so today I want to share some of my favorite moments from this journey.

It literally was a journey, I packed up my rental and hit the road from the Bay Area to LA. The six hour drive wasn't bad at all- the scenery was beautiful, and I had plenty of time with my thoughts, lots of time to reflect on life!

I made it to downtown LA in one piece, and immediately had an event to attend- the LLBlog kickoff party and happy hour sponsored by Milani cosmetics. There was a ton of swag, professionals doing makeup, taking head shots, and of course libations. I met the Milani team, and some beautiful people inside and out. I was pumped and ready for the following days seminars and speakers. I left the event and made my way to Beverly Hills where I was spending my hotel stay at the beautiful Crescent Hotel! The bed was plush, the bar was stocked and the decor was fab- I couldn't complain! If you're ever looking for a great place to stay, the Crescent is it!

 I meet so many wonderful ladies this weekend, and heard some empowering speakers- my favorite was the eloquent Deborah Deras- you have to check her out! I also met Nina, from Nina on the Moon, she was the reason I found out about this event and I was overly excited to finally meet and connect with her- she is even more gorgeous in person!!

Each day we heard a different panel of speakers at the Indie Desk space where the conference was held. workshops included "The Social Media of Blogging", "Using your blog to sell products online", and "The Business of Blogging: IRS Reporting, Copyright Law, and Blogger Disclosure."  And, we even got a tour of FIDM- such a gorgeous campus. Needless to say I learned SO much, and was unbelievably inspired!

Oh, and I ate some pretty amazing food, including traditional Oaxacan cuisine and went to Roscoe's with Lisa, a fabulous local jewelry designer for ilaments! That place is legit good, and somewhere I always find time to go to when I'm in LA. Overall it was an unbelievable experience and something I'll cherish forever- big thanks to Ana-Lydia and her amazing team for putting this event on! I can't wait for the next one!

{NEW POST} pick of the glitter

{thrifted denim jacket, J. Crew top and shoes, H and M conscious collection skirt, Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch, BCBG MaxAzria collar necklace, Chanel earrings}

Who says you can't rock sequins after the holidays?! If I could- and if the bf didn't already think my outrageous outfit choices weren't crazy enough- I would, and I do! The trick is--light denim! This fabulous fabric makes any outfit day-time appropriate- I think. I want to know, how do you tone down your fave sparkly pieces?

P.S I just came back from LA, for the #LLBlog and #LuckyFABB blogger conferences, and have so much inspiration to share, so stay tuned!!
