vote for me!

{J. Crew jacket, A Wear top, ark & Co skirt (fierce identical one!), Steve Madden brogues, H&M flower pin, J. Crew Biennial Satchel}

When you have a meeting to run- this is what you wear when you want to step it up but not go overboard. In my eyes the shoes are really what make someone look twice at an outfit like this. Sure peep toe sling-backs would have been fabulous, but this unexpected shoe choice (and color) really add an element of surprise!

Speaking of elements of surprise- I was recently chosen among a group of ladies to compete and try a shot at the 1st US Wallis Ambassador. This is where I need YOUR help! Click on this link, like the Wallis page if you haven't already, and vote for me! This is such an amazing opportunity and I know I would kill it and do Wallis and the US proud, since it is a UK brand. I mean you know I would put my very own "Allergic to Vanilla" spin on the clothes while still remaining put together and polished! You can vote once a day for the next two weeks.

Please vote, your suport has always meant the world to me! Let me know if you do vote so I can send some love your way. ;)

momma's girl

{Cat blouse purchased in Paris, Helmut Lang sheath dress, F21 beanie, Zara booties, Uniqlo tights, name plate necklace a gift from mom}

These photos were taken after a very long day- hence the fabulous wrinkled sheath I'm wearing. All joking aside this could be my favorite look from the past week- it was comfortable, really easy to put together, and the beanie just makes this work-look a little bit chic! Oh, and this was the day I decided to wear my name plate necklace for the next two weeks- so don't be surprised if you start to see it more often. My mom had it made for me in Nicaragua many years ago, even before SJP made them famous. She is currently in Nicaragua for a few weeks and this is sort of an ode to her.

What about you- any special gifts from mom that hold sentimental value?

a cut above

{New York & Company dress (this Valentino option is crazy good!), Zara coat, J. Crew Valentina heels, Edition by BR necklace (another good one), Forever 21 necklace}

This is my kind of cut out- the understated chic kind, and one coy enough to cover up with a blazer or coat and still be able to wear it to work. But just because it's work appropriate doesn't mean it needs to be boring -it's more of a classic than boring anyway. I added a dressy coat to pump up that fab factor, a silk flower pin- that I've been gravitating towards lately, a mixed mess of jewelry textures and a sleek do to pull it all together!

Following on BLOGLOVIN yet?

spring essentials by SheInside

SheInside Spring Essentials

Who isn't on board with the warm-weather leather trend? It's just so easy. It really goes with mostly anything- try to stay away from skintight leopard body suits though! A website I've recently encountered has some fab pieces I'd love to add to my arsenal at really the perfect price-point. Have you guys heard of SheInside? From fresh trendy items- hello Celine tee, to pieces that get better with age like these amazing sporty shorts, they have an all-around knockout selection. I know exactly where I'm going for all my must have spring essentials this season- especially with my upcoming trip to LA next month for a fun project with AG jeans, and Lucky FABB!

Styling tip: Don't let leather intimidate you! It can always be softened with pops of color, or paired with a neutral base like the amazingly chic "overall" jumpsuit above. Or amp up your fierce factor in a large geometric necklace, and an arm party of dainty gold bangles on your arm.

casual Friday

{edc by Esprit trench, Proenza Schouler x Target sweatshirt, Gap jeans, Nine West boots, arm party: TOKYObay watch & bracelet gifted, vintage and Stella & Dot, Milani lipstick}

This look is what happens when you have one too many libations at a blogger event the night before! My main focus this day was comfort, but I was still going into work- so it needed to also be put together. A pair of suede boots I rarely wear, a red pout, a slick back 'do--and three cups of coffee later not only do I look, but I'm starting to feel alright.

Speaking of alright, who's got some fun plans this weekend? Dish.

subtle print mixing

{Zara moto jacket (dream version), and lips tee (cheeky version), H&M printed skirt (love this print), J. Crew Valentina heels, J. Crew x Lulu Frost necklace gifted}

Here I am again doing what I like to do best- mixing and matching prints. Today's look is on the more subtle print mixing-side. If you look closely at my heels you'll notice they are leopard print- I like to call them my neutral heels because they elongate my legs and go with everything! Paired with a bird printed pencil skirt and a little bit of a downtown edge- with a moto jacket and simple tee. Add a little bling and a red lip, it's an attainable look for anyone!

buffalo check

{Thrifted blazer, Newport News buffalo check shirt (option), Gap camo pants, J. Crew Valentina heels, Lulu Frost x J. Crew necklace (amazing style!)}

I know I should be wearing florals, and pastel hues and frolicking around the city in lighter-than-air chiffon hi-low dresses but the fact is San Francisco is cold. So this is my ode to fall/winter dressing. This look kept me warm all day, and I haven't worn this shirt in a while- it's always nice to pull out an old piece from hiding, ie. yesterday's post!

Speaking of epic pieces- my friends over at TOKYObay are hosting a MAJOR Spring Cleaning Sale! It's epic because they rarely discount their beautiful, quality goods, and a lot of it is up to 65% off. I just might have to snag this futuristic looking piece to add to my arm candy collection!

it bag

{Forever 21 leopard coat, H&M men's sweatshirt, unknown skinnies, Steve Madden booties, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Lulu Frost for J. Crew necklace gifted, UO scarf}

I remember when I first laid eyes on this bag- yes the gorgeous, luxe, studded, purple Rebecca Minkoff bag in the above pictures- it was lust at first sight. Mrs. Minkoff sent said bag to some of my fave San Francisco lady bloggers- and somehow mine got lost in the mail. So I did what anyone in love would do- I spent a small fortune on this pretty bag- that I really don't wear enough. So this is me getting my cost-per-wear to go down, working the causal-chic look, and here to let you know that if you spent that much money on it, you better damn well pull it out from the back of your closet, no matter how many seasons have passed! Right?

two of my favorites

{Hollister utility jacket, Cynthia Rowley sweatshirt, Prabal Gurang x Target dress (cute skirt option), Bottega Venetta hobo, Zara booties, TokyoBay watch and bracelet gifted}

Whether it's both simultaneously, or individually these two recent acquisitions have been non-stop floating in and out of my day-to-day outfits. Let's see how many other ways I can figure out to incorporate one of these pieces into my wardrobe this week- I guarantee you it won't be hard!

how to mix prints: leopard & floral

{ShopSeptember sweater gifted, H&M: buttonup and skirt, Tory Burch Reva flats, Bottega Venetta bag, Milani lipstick}

Sure stripes go with every other print under the sun- but why not step it up a notch, and don your favorite prints in a new nonconformist way? Like cheetah and chevron, ikat and polka dots, or my current favorite leopard and florals!
