{Forever 21 coat (another cool yellow option), Madewell Ex- Boyfriend Chambray c/o, Zara denim, Zara loafers, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel, Rocks Paper Metal necklace c/o}

Ironically enough my alma mater school colors were blue and gold- so I have a bit of an affinity for those hues. I feel like sometimes these shades can get a bit juvenile, but hey, fashion is about mistakes as much as it is about trying new things and having fun with it! Bring on the fun I say...

Speaking of fashion, my bff sent me this sneak peek & preview into the Nordy's Half Yearly sale. Check it. You're welcome.

statement earrings

{Zara moto jacket, NY&Co sheath dress, Rocks Paper Metal earrings c/o, Zara loafers, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli, Bare Minerals Moxie lipgloss: Party Starter}

My mother always told me to leave the house wearing earrings. As a child I seemed to not listen to her words, but now as an adult I find myself searching out either my diamond studs or my favorite pair of silver hoops to "complete" my look each day. Given how "allergic to vanilla" I am with my clothing, it's a bit of a surprise how vanilla I got with choosing a fitting pair of earrings. Enter these pastel Rocks Paper Metal earrings. They are sort of a dream- the colors, the shape, the muted bling they exude. Because they are loud, I wanted to keep the rest of the look fairly simple- creating the perfect canvas to show-off these babies!

Last few days to follow me from GFC to Bloglovin...

How fitting that my mother actually took these pictures?!

more polka dots and the do's and don'ts of office wear!

{unknown dress (similar style), Sheinside blazer c/o, Zara flats, SEE sunglasses (another cool mirror style!), 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli}

Nothing I love more than an outfit that pulls itself together in the morning! And this dress/blazer combo is exactly that. I added my a-little-off round mirror sunglasses, and a pop-of-color lipstick to make this look more me- and off to work I went.

Here are some appropriate fashion work tips...

Summer Office Wear: Dos & Don'ts

When the warm weather arrives and you're sitting in a stuffy office at work, the temptation to banish your black trousers to the back of the wardrobe is strong. However, although you might want to swap the professional trouser suit for a casual flowing summer dress, it's worth thinking about your office dress code first.

To avoid walking into work looking like you've just stepped off Bondi Beach, follow these top do's and don'ts of office summer wear.

There are a few things to consider when it comes to choosing a dress that's appropriate for the office. One of the biggest decisions is over sleeves. In most cases, capped sleeves, ¾ sleeves or sleeveless are suitable but don't even think about spaghetti straps!

Summer maxi dresses are a good way to bring the sunshine into the office. Despite them giving off a fairly relaxed and bohemian look, when paired with a tailored blazer, they can look smart enough for work. Remember to avoid garish Hawaiian prints; solid colors are your best bet.

If there's one thing I love about summer, its swapping trousers for skirts. Although you can still wear a skirt in the winter, it typically involves horrible scratchy tights. You can achieve a really smart professional look with a knee-length skirt. It might be summer but it's best to avoid ruffles and bright patterns.

In some offices, it's just impossible to avoid the suit. However, you can make a suit
more summery by opting for lighter colours or light wool. Most suits are dark colors and made from heavy materials, but they don't have to be. By adding some lighter accessories, you can keep your corporate look and get that summery feeling.

Give your tootsies a bit of fresh air this summer and throw those clunky boots into
the back of the wardrobe. Swap your usual shoe for some cute peep toe heels. Be careful when choosing footwear for the summer as although they might be fashionable, they might not be appropriate for the office.

sale season

{Empyre boyfriend blazer, J. Crew embellished sweater, Antik Batik denim (similar flare style), Ash sandals, 3.1 Philip Lim Pashli, Miliani lipstick}

I love a good sale. There are two sales (a few times a year) I know I will get lots of new goodies from- J. Crew and Zara.  Zara started last night- I'm definitely headed there on my lunch break today- and J. Crew. During the later I picked up this darling embellished sweater! The collar is precious, and removable- gotta love transition pieces like this! Any stores you love heading to during sale season?

that 70's show

{Covet: jumpsuit (similar style on my list!), handbag, necklace; Madewell ex-boyfriend buttonup, Mia sandals (another cute style)}

My inner hippie definitely came out to play, this day. The prints, the collar-on-collar action, the round sunnies- all so seventies!

pops of neon

{thrifted jean jacket, Zara turtleneck, J. Crew Pencil skirt, Rocks Paper Metal necklace c/o, J. Crew Valentina pumps, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli}

I'm crushing hard on this new addition to my jewelry box- this Stunning Crystal Bib is the perfect unexpected accent to any outfit. I almost didn't wear it with this outfit, thinking the bib collar might conflict with the turtleneck, but I actually think it compliments it quite well! And hello- who doesn't love the neon bright rope cord?!

casual corner-office attire

{H&M overcoat (similar style), J. Crew Factory striped tee, J. Crew denim, Tory Burch heels, Lulu Frost for J. Crew necklace, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Satchel, Miliani lipstick}

Nothing like a classic black coat, and some corner-office-accessories to dress up the easiest of outfits. What's your secret to dressing up an other wise casual outfit?

summer skin

skin care

As ladies we're trained at a very young age to take care of our skin. But it's usually not until we see that first sun spot or wrinkle that we pay our mother's any mind. For me, it was watching my mom stock up at the Lancome counter every time there was a gift with purchase, and realizing then that good skin care sometimes deserves a splurge.

I've always been a products girl, the more little bottles and serums and jars in my beauty cabinet- the better. I'll try any product once and have come up with a solid list of some of my favorite summer skin treatments, and some that are on my wishlist. Since we all know to exfoliate, cleanse, treat, moisturize and protect our precious skin, Here goes...

Beauty Counter-
I've recently sampled a few goodies from this brand new line, and let me tell you I'm impressed. There all-natural, safe-for-you-and-safe-for-your-skin mission makes me love them even more. The cream cleanser is non-invasive, and left my skin soft, moisturized and free of hard-to-remove mascara! The body lotion smells amazing- like your surrounded by lemon trees- and I've been using it non-stop. My skin is drinking it up, I've been mixing it with a little bronzer to give my skin some oomph! And last but not least an amazing product I've always wanted to try out- face oil. It's something I envision fabulous Italian women slathering themselves in to maintain their amazing skin. So what do I think of it? The Lustro Face Oil is even better than that scenario in my head- it's magic. It leaves my skin glowy, dewy and every other fabulous term for good skin.

Exotic far away places hold an allure that make getting access to skincare in said far-away places a treat to bring back home. Like balms in a Parisian drugstore, or spf in Barcelona. Well one of my dream get-away purchases would be a BB cream. BB creams are the perfect ending to a well rounded skin care routine. And the German based Schrammeck Blemish Balm on this page is something I've been meaning to try out- since I haven't found the perfect one just yet. How about you, any BB creams you've been loving lately?

the flower market

{Flower Market dress via Covet Boutique, Zara leather jacket, unknown cross-body (similar style), Zara sandals, Hayworth bracelet}

I love picking up flowers weekly, they brighten up my home and make me incredibly happy! But, if I left that part of decorating up to my bf he'd just as well leave those pretty blooms at the store, since "they are going to die anyways." Oh boys.

a variation

{J. Crew Factory blazer, scarf- gift from Mom, Zara girls tee-shirt, Miss Me denim c/o, J. Crew Valentina heels, necklaces: Bauble Bar and Perfect Sunday, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli (on sale!)}

Seems like my workday outfits are becoming some variation of this look here. I am such a blazer girl- I own about 15 in every imaginable color, and quite a few of them in cheeky prints. Throw on some cigarette skinny jeans, a pointed toe pump, a fresh coat of lipstick, and I'm ready for the day!
