the eyes have it

{Zara eyeball dress (similar), Gap denim jacket c/o, H&M panama hat, Madewell crossbody c/o, MIA sandals, Brownie and Madam sunglasses c/o}

You guys, I'm obsessed. Sure, I know, I say that at least once a week, but really, this dress. Seriously. I mean the eyeballs, the quirk, the off-Nairobi blue shade, the length, even that sweet mock neck collar- it is perfection. I held this bad boy prisoner in my closet for over a few months, and finally found the perfect occasion to wear it- this past weekend while doing a little wine tasting, and a lot of nibbling. Did you guys do anything good last weekend?

friday favorite: pearls

Pearls have been top-of-mind for ladies who lunch around the world since the very beginning. But the giant pearl trend that's been happening currently has been going strong since Chanel's Spring 2014 show. Bloggers, editors and fashion boys and girls everywhere have been emulating, replicating and DIYing their little hearts to get in on a piece of the action. And it's no wonder, pearls are elegant, classic, ladylike, demure, go with everything...shall I continue? While I personally don't have a ton of pearl jewelry, maybe one or two bracelets my dad gave me as a little girl, I may need to seriously consider that bottom right bangle- it's beyond.

I'm heading over to Mesenso to do a little window shopping. In the mean time check out some of my favorites below:

denim days

It's no surprise that denim is by far one of the easiest materials to wear. It's comfortable, stylish and can be dressed up or down. Most of my denim comes from Gap since I love that it's affordable, and on-trend, but the quality is still there. This weekend I decided I needed a new denim jacket in a different shade- a girl needs options! While cruising into a Gap store is usually pretty productive for me, I decided to give their Reserve in Store (RIS) program a whirl. It's a service where you can reserve items online and they'll be waiting for you at your desired store location. I ordered my darker shade denim on Saturday afternoon, and within the hour I was notified it was ready to be picked up! I didn't have time to show up that day, so I went on Sunday and there it was, waiting for me. Super easy, perfectly on brand with Gap and what it stands for. Stay tuned with how I wear my new jacket in an upcoming post. And check out some more Gap denim styles, and try out RIS if it tickles your fancy.

so miami

Last week San Francisco felt like it was a different city. We had another heat wave, people were running around in next-to-nothing, and I settled on a linen suit set. Go figure. I wanted to stay exceptionally cool while still maintaining a professional vibe, so I reached for this light colored suit. To add some personality I styled the look with my hot pink Soludos- which dare I say work incredibly well. It feel like Miami but I was definitely in San Francisco. Summer I'm ready for ya!

{J. Jill tunic c/o (similar), Vince heels c/o Bloomingdales, H&M Panama hat, Micheal Kors sunglasses, Tory Burch Robinson crossbody, Color Club nail polish, arm stack: TOYKObay watch, nOir stud bracelet, Stella & Dot snake bangle, Le Tote bracelet}

Sometimes all you need are a great pair of shoes to elevate a simple shift and it'll take your look to the next level. I firmly believe that clothing doesn't always matter (says the girl who is having a hard time searching for an empty hanger in her closet) but your accessories do, so investing in quality shoes and bags is my MO.

I'm especially enamored with the new Vince collection, here are some other delicious picks! Which one is your favorite?

leather & layers

I wore this look to the Puretergent press breakfast last week in Hayes Valley, I knew there would be some majorly stylish babes there so I wore my "editor" pants, they hardly come out (kind of like those J.W.Anderson heels from Monday) but when they do, my whole look feels a bit more elegant and elevated. Pairing these wide-leg, all-business trousers with a more gritty leather and neoprene top just made sense and was the perfect outfit for the event.

Check out some more great leather sleeved and wide-leg trouser options below:

fancy feet

{Rebecca Minkoff jacket, Express leatherette top, Gap denim skinnies, JW Anderson x Aldo heels, Zero UV shades, Jami earrings}

It was an instant crush when I laid eyes on these J.W. Anderson x Also heels all those years ago on that collaboration. The feathers, the colors, the skinny ankle strap, the sexy silhouette and the laced up front, it was all perfection- and so very SJP, no? While they don't get much play, they are so gorgeous to look at. Below are some of my other favorite feathered footwear...

new in: mens oxford

{Uniqlo men's shirt, Zara blazer, True Religion denim c/o, Steve Madden boots, Zero UV shades, Susu clutch c/o}

Last weekend I found a men's button-up oxford for under ten dollars, I of course had to snag it. It's practically protocol, right?  Since I love menswear it was kind of a no-brainer. I anticipate getting lots of wear out of my new investment piece.

Here's to another weekend, friends!

rag & bone

(rag & bone tee, J. Crew cargos, Madewell cross-body (in black), Goorin Bros Doctor fedora, Ash sandals, Vant Jag necklace c/o, Katie Dean necklace}

I've been living in the tee shirt. It's been in my closet for only a few weeks but I've managed to wear it a lot. I mean- it's chic, comfortable, and you can't go wrong with stripes- what's not to love? Be honest, how many striped tops do you own?

{French Connection windowpane dress, Banana Republic Factory red blouse c/o, Zara booties, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli, Zero UV shades}

It's no surprise that I enjoy a good old mixed print combo. My blog was founded on it, it's something I wear on a bi-weekly basis and it's just plain fun. But it is a little loud, and not for the faint of heart- just the way I like my style.

I wore this look during the heat wave last week, it was a bit overdressed for the weather but thankfully, or not, depending how you look at it, my office is constantly in air-condition mode. That means lots of layers, hence the cheeky blouse under this graphic print dress.

It sure was fun to wear this look, check out similar options below:

By the way, my friends over at Mia Melon are on their final days of their Kickstarter campaign, they are killing it with their fab outerwear and with their already met goal. I may need one of their jackets come chillier San Francisco days. Check them out and please help out if you are so inclined too!
