how to dress up a jumpsuit

{Paige denim jumpsuit c/o Bloomingdales, Asos bowtie, Vionic leopard booties c/o, vintage coat borrowed from mom (similar style), Bailey fedora (very similar style)}

I didn't get nearly enough milage out of this sweet denim jumpsuit during our short San Francisco summer, so I'm dressing it up in a different way into my fall style. Last time I wore it on the blog it was in a low-key super casual way. This time around as more layers are required this time of year the final look felt quite elegant to me. Fancy extras like a cashmere blend coat, a prim bowtie, and perfect comfortable calf hair booties upped the ante this time around. How do you rock your jumpsuits?

{Jigsaw sweater c/o, Zara denim, Jigsaw Cara booties c/o, Bally Swiss bag, J. Crew necklace, SEE eyewear sunglasses}

My college colors were blue and gold, so I do have an affinity for those hues but they are still so darn chic together, right? Regardless of all those bold lettered oversized SJSU sweatshirts I may or may not have loved I think these two colors will always compliment each other. Even many years later I gravitate towards these shades especially during this time of year. What are your favorite fall hues?

london town

{Alloy peacoat (newer version here), Aqua dress by Bloomingdales, Bally Swiss bag, Zara booties, J.Crew necklace, Brownie and Madam sunglasses}

This whole ensemble reminds me of a different town in a different era. I get a very London feel with the cropped coat, the swingy dress with the leather Peter Pan collar, and the socks with the boots. Speaking of London I'm dying to go back. This whole fashion month thing has got me inching to travel somewhere!

fall favorites

{Gap denim jacket (need this one!), Uniqlo mens shirt, J. Crew jeans, Duo heels c/o, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli, TOKYObay watch, J. Crew fedora & necklace}

This was the first day it really started to feel like fall in San Francisco. There was a crispness in the air on an extra windy day, we had just gotten cappuccinos and fancy toast at a nearby coffee house. It was one of those I-feel-really-blessed days. Very much looking forward to more Saturdays like that. Fall is probably my favorite season after summer so decorating our place in autumnal hues, wrapping myself in layers of knits and pumpkin spiced everything is high on this years fall priority list.

jigsaw london on fillmore

If you guys follow me on my instagram account you know by now that I'm hosting an event tomorrow at the Jigsaw London store on Fillmore street, in San Francisco. This past weekend I popped in for a tour, and got a rundown on the new A/W 2014 collection. It's broken up into 3 sections inspired by three different areas in Europe- the Left Bank (my personal favorite!), Reykjavik, and Berlin.

Truth be told, this was (gasp) my first time in this Jigsaw store on Fillmore street, there are so many gorgeous little boutiques that I haven't yet visited them all. This one was a breath of fresh air, as soon as I walked in beautiful soft natural light poured through and filled the space, the staff was gracious, the decor was simple and chic except for an eclectic gallery wall I wanted to bring home with me, and the glam-est of chandeliers peppered the high ceilings. And that was just the ambiance, the clothing is what I came in for and was not disappointed. I meet the cocoon coat of my dreams, a pair of ankle boots that need a new home in my closet and basic staples that may or may not be making it home with me tomorrow night.

I hope to see you dear Bay Area readers tomorrow night, there will be flowing champagne, a sweet raffle and good times. So come on by and enjoy your new favorite boutique on Fillmore street.

black//grey + an event

{Zara blazer, by Luciana tee, Charlotte Russe denim (really old), Sperry Top-Sider shoes, Goorin Bros fedora, 3.1 Philliip Lim Pashli, J. Crew necklace}

Lately it seems I've been gravitating towards a more neutral palette. Could be the changing of the seasons or the overwhelming amount of black and gray tones in my closet that rarely get worn together- either way I'm into it. Speaking of neutrals and basics I'm hosting an event with Jigsaw London this Thursday in San Francisco. More details are below. I'll be there at 6pm. Come have a glass of champagne, get your shop on, and let's cheers to a new fashion season full of cozy knits, new silhouettes and lots of cashmere.

pencil it in

{Zara blazer, Gap tee, Zara pencil skirt, B by Brian Atwood sandals c/o DSW, (similar style), 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli satchel, Stila Beso lip-color, ZeroUV sunglasses, J. Crew gold choker, Katie Dean feather necklace}

While this typically isn't my go to work outfit it's one that puts me in a business woman mindset and definitely upped the ante at the morning work meeting. I love it when you find a great outfit and it permeates confidence in everything you do. The loose but on-trend v-neck tee with the fitted pencil skirt and my go-to blazer made this a simple, but chic outfit- definitely going to be a repeater.

Thankfully I have good friends that both photograph and style me. My friend Jackie schooled me on the Jenna cuff, and this outfit just wouldn't have been the same without it.

(Zara jumpsuit, Zara blazer (similar), J. Crew Valentina heels, 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli, Ann Taylor necklace c/o}

This pink jumpsuit was completely an impulse purchase. I told myself I wouldn't get sucked into the Zara summer sale this year and I mostly didn't until that one time. Towards the end of the sale, when everything was mostly picked over I spotted this lonesome Pepto-pink jumpsuit just hanging-- with it's lowish back and it's obnoxious hue--I had to have it. It needed hemming, where does Zara get their fit models anyways?- but once I chopped off the bottom 5 inches it was perfect. Perfect enough to don at my girlfriend's rehearsal dinner too. But just so I eventually get the most out of my sale score I'm determined to rock it to work, hopefully during that Indian Summer we're all (patiently) waiting for.

a study in contrasts

{Peter Som x DesigNation vest, (another vest style) dress purchased in Paris, Jean Michel Cazabat heels (similar style), ZeroUV sunglasses c/o, Madewell clutch, TOKYObay watch}

I scored this black and white marbled dress in a chain fast fashion store in Paris last year, and it still remains one of my most chic and most complimented pieces. It's actually tea length but I preferred the shorter hem with these heels so I decided to add a little knot to it and pseudo alter this baby myself. Now that is my kind of DIY.

Hope you babes have a fabulous weekend! I'll be spending mine at a friend's wedding and can't wait to share pics, follow along on my instagram for real time snaps!
